Its compact size and weight of 14.6 [kg] make it mobile and convenient thanks to the transport handle. It offers a comfortable, quiet operating mode (FAN STOP) that saves energy. For welding with 3 methods, both with gas cylinder (MIG/MAG-AUTO) and without gas (FLUX), electrode (MMA) and LIFT-TIG.

The iTECH MIG 220 is all about intuitive operation and advanced functionality, with individual adjustment of settings in PULSE, DUAL PULSE and INDUCTANCE (induction) technologies. The unit has a 3-metre all-copper 3×2.5 [mm2] power cable and a 3-metre all-copper 25 [mm2] ground holder. The kit includes a 3-metre electrode holder and a 4-metre KD24 torch.

Basic information about SKANDI KRAFT iTECH MIG 220

  • MIG/MAG AUTO system – after specifying the type and thickness of the material and the diameter of the wire, allows automatic adjustment of welding parameters in the MIG/MAG method.
  • PULSE and DUAL PULSE welding, improving the transfer of filler metal into the welding pool having a special effect on the quality and strength of the weld.
  • Welder with an easy-to-read 3.5″ LCD displayfour selectable languages and 18 memory channels with the ability to save settings.
  • For welding with 4 methods: MIG/MAG AUTO, MIG/MAG, LIFT- TIG and MMA.
  • FAN STOP system turns off the fan at idle – so the welder, when powered on and fully functional, makes no noise, reduces power consumption and does not attract dust. The fan automatically turns on when you start welding.
  • The possibility of connecting a SPOOL GUN holder (a holder with a built-in wire feeder), which will provide improved material transfer to the weld.
  • The device, after setting the thickness of the material, adjusts the welding current in the case of the LIFT-TIG method. In the MMA method, the device, along with the material thickness adjustment and intelligent parameter selection, provides the suggested diameter of the electrode to be used.
  • Convenient dials and a clear panel that makes it easy to quickly adjust the welder, even when wearing welding gloves.
  • 2T-double-tap welding. To trigger the arc, press the button on the welding handle and hold it while welding, releasing the button results in extinguishing the welding arc.

4T-four-bar welding. To trigger the arc, press the button on the welding handle and then release it . Maintaining the arc will continue. To extinguish the welding arc, press again and then release the button.

  • SPOT functions – designed for spot welding. The device has a preset heating time, and the operator sets only the welding current. This function is mostly used in auto repair shops
  • S_2T / S_4T functions – this is a combination of two welding techniques. Spot welding, where gas discharge before the welding process and gas discharge after the process are used. In addition, a 2T and 4T function was used to combine to create the S_2T/S_4 method, which allows welding to start and finish properly.
  • It is built with IGBT transistors, which have high efficiency.
  • Gas heater connector (36V) – through the use of a socket, you can connect a regulator with a heater or the heater itself and heat the gas to a positive temperature.

Welder functions

Welding MIG/MAG AUTO system:

  • Automatically adjust the welder after specifying the type of material and thickness and wire diameter, the machine will adjust the welding parameters. This system has the ability to tune the welding current manually for individual parameter selection.
  • PULSE welding, improving the transfer of filler metal into the weld pool having a special effect on the quality and strength of the weld.
  • Selection of 2T/4T, which will allow more comfortable creation of longer welds.
  • Choice of weld material (Carbon steelStainless steelAl-Si – soft aluminum, Al-Mg – hard aluminum, Cu-Si – brazing).

MIG/MAG welding:

  • PULSE welding, improving the transfer of filler metal into the weld pool having a special effect on the quality and strength of the weld.
  • Selection of 2T/4T,which allows more comfortable creation of longer welds.
  • SPOT spot welding functions and S_2T and S_4T welding handle operation, i.e. welding starting with gas discharge before the process of starting welding from lower current to base current and finally lowering the current value to the crater quench setting and turning on the gas discharge after the process is completed.
  • Selection of the weld material (Carbon steelStainless steelAl-Si – soft aluminum, Al-Mg – hard aluminum, Cu-Si – soldering).
  • Selection of the thickness of the welded material.
  • Determination of wire diameter. In Al-Si and Al-Mg (range 1.0-1.2 [mm]), other materials from (0.8-1.2 [mm]).
  • Possibility to set wire feed speed [m/min].

MMA welding:

  • Hot Start – facilitates the start of welding by temporarily increasing the welding current at the beginning.
  • Arc Force – adjusts the length of the welding arc, this function allows you to reduce or increase the depth of fusion and reduce spatter.
  • VRD – allows the arc to be disconnected when the electrode is detached from the material and will ensure safe operation during welding.
  • Anti Stick – easier detachment of the electrode in case of sticking.

LIFT-TIG welding:

  • Adjustable welding current [A], after setting it, the welder prompts the thickness of the sheet metal.
  • LIFT-TIG function equipped with SOFT START module, eliminating the risk of damaging the electrode when starting the welding process.

The possibility to return to the factory settings after holding the “Return” button.
